Canon C 300 camera. I will ask you as a practitioner: I installed the Relocator from Zacuto on the shoulder grip There I installed the original grip unit on it. I connected it with a cable to the socket on the camera body. With the grip unit I can now only adjust the aperture, the record function is not active. How to fix it, what is set wrong? grip init on the body has both functions, but on the relocator only one what is ? do you know what's wrong?

I like the convenience this can bring but my Sennheiser MKH416 is too heavy for it? I have smaller mics too but as a solo creator being able to use a XLR mic too would be fantastic. Great concept though!!

It'd be more convincing had the "tests" actually take place on the hypothetical locations. Either way, I'm sure it works as we all know closer is better for signal to noise.

I like this idea for solo shooters but I feel like your testing was not well done. Why not have the $1000 on a boom arm? Not really a fair comparison. If you were showing the $38 mic vs the $1000 mic without the microboom then yes that would have been a fair comparison. But with the microboom you have the gain lower and able to dial things in better. You should have had a boom for the $1000 mic, even if it was just a cheap Amazon mic stand with a boom arm and under slung it. I have done that before for some shoots with my Audiotechnica mic at events along with Laving the talent so I have redundant audio.

Zacuto is back at it with overpriced gear.

Another camera abandoned. Every camcorder now has the same 1 inch sensor and the same crappy lens that cant match the DOF and dynamic range of this.

I've already purchased it but i have some concern about weight limit. I wanted to use it with the Rode VideoMic NTG but it looks like it's too heavy for the weight limit. How does the MicroBoom handles higher weights?

By the way, how did you feel about the sound in the splash video, ruclips.net/video/Vjc7NG-YIiA/видео.html It was all done with the microBoom and a $38 first version Rode Video Micro recorded on a iPhone 15 using iPhones native camera app.

poor ls300 such a good camcorder left in the dust. now all they have are 10 pound camcorders you cant hold for 5 minutes, and they dont compare in image quality to this. Re release this camera with a new computer chip, give folks the fancier record options and be done. Please. its this or an fx6. and the fx6 is a little overpriced. and i dont want full frame lol.

I used to think this concept was lame, a camera mounted audio boompole. But nowadays with the prevalence of "creators", RUclipsrs, Vloggers and needing to accomplish more as a OMB, this concept is making more sense. Many of us are supplementing our large, heavy pro cameras with light, mirrorless rigs and even iPhones for more mobile shoots and this is a way to still get good, usable sound. I love my expensive mics, and my Tentacle Track Es but I have to admit my Rode Micro gives very usable sound quality if you can get it in within a foot of talent's mouth. It's not killer but its good enough for a lot of uses. Good work Zacuto!
